Flower Crown DIY

Hello~!

Today I'll be making a flower crown DIY tutorial! My friend makes her own flower crowns, and she taught me while she was over the other day. So if you're interested, here you go!

Materials:

  • Fake flowers
  • Scissors
  • Wire (most people use green)
  • Embellishments (Optional)
  • Ribbon OR Floral tape
  • Hot glue gun
  • Glue dots (Optional)

STEP ONE

First, behead your flowers! Make sure you leave enough of a 'nub' on the ends to push through the wire.

STEP TWO

Braid your wire! Make sure it's big enough that it will fit around your head where you want your crown to  lay WHEN BRAIDED- Doing this when it's still loose will make it too small in the end!
STEP THREE

Poke the flower nubs into the spaces between the wires. Make sure they're where you want them, and then take the glue gun and glue them. Continue to do this until all your flowers are on.

STEP FOUR

Glue on your embellishments! For mine, I just put a few little studs in the centers of my flowers. For some ideas, tiny mirrors and birds look adorable!

STEP FIVE

If you're using floral tape, wrap the tape around your wire till it's fully covered. If you're using ribbon (like I did), first cut it in half. Then glue one half right behind your last flower (I ran out of hot glue sticks, so I had to use glue dots). Wrap it till half of the exposed wires are covered. Do the same with the other half on the other side. Tie them around where they meet in a single knot. Then tie another so it's a double knot. Turn the knot into a double bow, and you're done!

If you're doing two ribbons, wrap both and tie the single knot before turning them into the bow.

I hope this helped! If you have any questions, just comment and I'll get back to you as soon as I can!

Thanks for reading ♥!
